THE ESSENTIAL MINDSET MASTERCLASS

sIMPLISTIC & EFFECTIVE WEIGHTLOSS

I have come up with a framework that helps me become more mindful and helps me elevate my mind, exercise my body, and eat to nourish my mind, body and soul. Practising mindfulness is a powerful way to connect the mind, body and soul, and it can be done in various ways. Mindfulness means being present in the moment and fully engaged in the task at hand. It is about focusing on the present moment without judgment, and it can be done in many different ways, such as meditation, deep breathing, or simply paying attention to your surroundings.  I refer to this as…

Elevating the Mind, Body, and Soul

Similarly, another way to practice mindfulness is through exercise. Exercise not only helps to improve physical health but also has a positive impact on mental health. It can help to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, and it can also improve mood and boost self-esteem. When exercising, it is important to focus on the present moment, paying attention to your body and your breath.

One other way to practice mindfulness is through healthy eating. Eating a balanced diet that is rich in nutrients can help to improve physical health and mental well-being. It is important to pay attention to what you are eating and to eat mindfully, savoring each bite and chewing slowly. By doing this, you can not only improve your digestion but also cultivate a deeper appreciation for the food you are eating.

Understanding Mindfulness

I have found that practicing mindfulness has been incredibly beneficial. Mindfulness is the practice of being present and fully engaged in the current moment, without judgment or distraction. It involves paying attention to your thoughts, feelings, and surroundings in a non-judgmental way.

Practising mindfulness helped me – :

  • Put more of the focus on myself as opposed to others
  • Helped me to discover things that I enjoy doing
  • I started back praying daily and also went back to church
  • I started meditation practices
  • Build my commitment to working out regularly
  • Changed my outlook on food

Mindfulness is something personal and something only you can practice and foster. Take it seriously as it will help you open doors that you thought would be closed forever. Be committed in the present, the NOW moment and really absorb everything. Miracles will occur!

Gabby Bernstein says, “I focus my energy on the love around me and I expect miracles!”

Benefits of Mindfulness

There are many benefits to practising mindfulness, both for the mind and body. According to a study published in the Journal of Physical Activity and Health, mindfulness practice can help improve physical activity levels by increasing present-moment awareness, equanimity, and non-doing.

Additionally, mindfulness-based treatments have been shown to reduce anxiety and depression, lower blood pressure, improve sleep, and help people cope with pain, according to the National Institutes of Health. Moreover, mindfulness can help increase self-awareness, improve emotional regulation, and enhance cognitive function. It can also help reduce stress and improve overall well-being.

Philosophy and Origins

Mindfulness has its roots in Buddhist philosophy and has been practised for thousands of years. It was popularized in the West in the 1970s by Jon Kabat-Zinn, who developed a mindfulness-based stress reduction program. Since then, mindfulness has become increasingly popular and is now widely practised in a variety of settings, including schools, workplaces, and healthcare settings.

In essence, mindfulness is about being present and fully engaged in the current moment, without judgment or distraction. By practising mindfulness, we can improve our physical and mental health, increase self-awareness, and enhance our overall well-being.

Elevating the Mind and Soul

When it comes to elevating the mind and soul, many practices can help you achieve a state of mindfulness and inner peace. Here are a few techniques that I find helpful:

Meditation Techniques

Meditation is a powerful tool for calming the mind and connecting with your inner self. There are many different types of meditation, but some of the most popular include mindfulness meditation, loving-kindness meditation, and transcendental meditation.

Mindfulness meditation involves focusing your attention on the present moment and observing your thoughts and feelings without judgment. Loving-kindness meditation involves cultivating feelings of love, kindness, and compassion towards yourself and others. Transcendental meditation involves using a mantra to help you achieve a state of deep relaxation and inner peace.

Mindful Breathing

Mindful breathing is another powerful technique for calming the mind and reducing stress. To practice mindful breathing, you can try the following: –

1. Simply focus your attention on your breath as it flows in and out of your body

2. Notice the sensation of the air moving in and out of your nostrils, and the rise and fall of your chest and abdomen.

3. If your mind starts to wander, simply bring your attention back to your breath. You can also try counting your breaths, or repeating a calming phrase to yourself as you breathe.

Cultivating Positivity

Cultivating positivity is another important aspect of elevating the mind and soul. One way to do this is to practice gratitude. Take a few minutes each day to reflect on the things in your life that you are grateful for, no matter how small they may seem.

You can also try practicing positive affirmations, such as “I am worthy and deserving of love and happiness,” or “I am capable of achieving my goals and dreams.” By focusing on positive thoughts and feelings, you can help shift your mindset towards one of abundance and positivity.

Incorporating these practices into your daily routine can help you achieve a greater sense of mindfulness and inner peace, and elevate your mind and soul to new heights.

Physical Exercise

Regular physical exercise is an excellent way to practice mindfulness and elevate both the mind and soul. Here are some examples of exercises that can help: –

  • Yoga and Mindfulness – Yoga is a form of exercise that combines physical movement with mental focus and relaxation. Practicing yoga can help improve flexibility, balance, and strength while also reducing stress and anxiety. It is an excellent way to practice mindfulness because it requires you to focus on your breath and body movements.

  • Aerobic Exercises – Aerobic exercises like running, cycling, and swimming are great for improving cardiovascular health and endurance. They also release endorphins, which can help reduce stress and improve mood. When practicing aerobic exercises, it is essential to focus on your breath and body movements to stay present in the moment.

Consistency and Routine

Consistency and routine are key to making physical exercise a habit and incorporating it into your daily life. It is essential to find exercises that you enjoy and that fit into your schedule. Setting goals and tracking progress can also help you stay motivated and make exercise a regular part of your routine.

Incorporating physical exercise into your daily routine is an excellent way to practice mindfulness and elevate both the mind and soul. By focusing on your breath and body movements, you can stay present in the moment and reduce stress and anxiety. Whether you prefer yoga, aerobic exercises, or a combination of both, consistency and routine are key to making exercise a regular part of your life.

Healthy Eating Habits

Maintaining a healthy diet is essential for elevating the mind, body, and soul. Here are some healthy eating habits that I follow to stay mindful of my food intake:

Mindful Eating

Mindful eating involves being present and aware of the food we eat. It’s about paying attention to the taste, texture, and smell of the food. When I practice mindful eating, I take my time to chew my food well and savor each bite. This helps me to feel more satisfied and prevents me from overeating.

Nutritional value is important to be aware of in the food we eat. I make sure to include a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins in my diet. I also try to limit my intake of processed foods, sugary drinks, and snacks. By doing this, I ensure that my body is getting the nutrients it needs to function properly.

Planning Balanced Meals

Planning my meals ahead of time helps me to make healthier choices. I create a weekly meal plan and make a grocery list based on the ingredients I need. This helps me to avoid impulse buying and ensures that I have healthy options readily available.

I also try to prepare my meals in advance, so I have healthy options on hand when I’m short on time. By following these healthy eating habits, I am able to maintain a balanced and nutritious diet. It helps me to feel energized and focused, which in turn elevates my mind and soul.

Integrating Practices into Daily Life

Creating a mindful environment is essential to elevating the mind, body, and soul. One way to do this is by decluttering your living space. A cluttered environment can lead to a cluttered mind, making it difficult to focus and be present. By decluttering, you can create a calming and peaceful environment that promotes mindfulness.

Another way to create a mindful environment is by incorporating nature into your living space. Adding plants or flowers to your home can help reduce stress and anxiety while promoting relaxation and a sense of well-being. You can also try opening your windows to let in fresh air and natural light, which can have a positive effect on your mood and overall health.

Conclusion

Finally, we see that this framework, once carried out as described, will bring you closer to achieving your health and fitness goals. It helped me! Getting on the right path is not easy. Trust me but once you implement this structure you are going to see major changes and improvements in your life.

Remember, the key is getting all 3 facets of our vessel in sync: – the mind, body, and soul. Once you achieve this, your life seems to pivot and transcend the boundaries and limitations you might have inadvertently erected around your potential. It has meaning, you feel empowered and you start living. You are set up to achieve what you set out to do and no one can stop you but YOU!
